CRAFTING I have divided the various trade skills into two main categories, which I'm calling Primary (or gathering) Skills and Secondary (or crafting) Skills. Primary Skills may be used to gather supplies needed for Secondary Skills. Mind you, these are just my definitions and shouldn't be considered absolute, and I'm just guessing how the different skills will interact, so if you disagree with me feel free to voice your opinion in the forums. PRIMARY (or GATHERING) TRADE SKILLS MINING HERBALISM FARMING HUNTING FISHING SKINNING SETTING SNARES LUMBERJACKING SECONDARY (or CRAFTING) TRADE SKILLS BLACKSMITHING ARMORSMITHING WEAPONSMITHING FLETCHING CARPENTRY JEWELCRAFTING COOKING BAKING TAILORING TINKERING ENCHANTING ALCHEMY MINING What it is: Gathering ore and rocks from nature or from mines to be turned into metals and jewels Supports: Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, Weaponsmithing, Fletching, Jewelcrafting Quote(s) about mining: "You can get the materials faster from organized resource production, like mines and farms, while collecting in nature is slower" "I can chop a tree for wood, skin a tombstone (doesn't feel right), mine a rock, and whack some weeds for herbs and feel like I'm in constant danger running around in the countryside doing so." "You can harvest in someone else's mine, however they'll get a message that you did." "You can gather the resources you need from hunting, or from mining the specific resource. You could also buy them from a vendor or another player." HERBALISM What it is: The art of gathering certain useful flowers and herbs from nature Supports: Alchemy, Cooking, Baking Quote(s) about herbalism: "I can chop a tree for wood, skin a tombstone (doesn't feel right), mine a rock, and whack some weeds for herbs and feel like I'm in constant danger running around in the countryside doing so." "There's a smithy, a workshop, an alchemist shop, an herbalist's shop and the mage guild."

FARMING What it is: Planting, tending, and harvesting food, herbs, and grain. Therefore eating is in the game, and players that enjoy farming, setting traps, baking, cooking, fishing, hunting, etc. can sell their wares to other players and actually be useful to others&" "Farms are mostly located inside and around clan cities. Farming is a harvesting and logistical exercise. You also have to control who is using your farm. You can deplete a farm's resources but they'll grow back, so careful management is required for maximum yield." "You could hook up with a few friends and be pirates, sailing your galleon around, plundering merchant ships, or choose to play the Dwarven blacksmith, crafting mighty magical weapons and armor, or perhaps a farmer producing rare herbs and spell reagents." Note: it is assumed, but not confirmed, that a skill like carpentry will be required to build ships and houses. JEWELCRAFTING What it is: The crafting of stones, metals, and other materials into jewelry, possibly with magical qualities; jewelry repair Supported by: Mining, Hunting, Skinning, Alchemy, Enchanting Quote(s) about jewelcrafting: "You will be able to make almost every item found in the world like weapons, tools, armor, clothing, food, containers, furniture, jewelry etc." COOKING What it is: The crafting of meats, fruits, and vegetables into appetizing dishes through the addition of herbs and spices and the application of heat, usually a fire of some kind Supported by: Farming, Hunting, Fishing, Setting Snares, Herbalism, Lumberjacking, Alchemy Quote(s) about cooking: "Did some cooking and the crafting system is alright. It's nothing new but it is straightforward and works fine, at least for the few things I crafted."
